Marie Gillis
MARIE VARLEY GILLIS, RDH,MS,DHSc graduated from Northeastern University, the University of Maryland, and NOVA Southeastern University majoring in Health Sciences.
She retired as an educational consultant for programmatic accredation, regularulatory compliance, and continuing education courses. She was a professor at Howard University, College of Dentistry; Dean of Fortis College; research facility at St. Louis University, College of Medicine; and faculty at Nova Southeastern, College of Health Sciences.
She was the first author of numerousscholarly articles in peer-reviewed journals, recipient of multiple research grants, and awards. She has contributed to textbooks and developed and presented online courses for graduate students as well as for students preparing to take dental hygiene exams.
Marie and her husband, Chet, have made their home in Landfall for 15 years. They have 4 children and four grandchildren. When not writing, Marie enjoys gardenting, yoga, volunteering, the beach annd entertaining.
Marie is pleased to be part of Landfall Writers’ Group, As a career scientific writer, she is enjoying writing for pleaseur as a new pyrsuit.
Her current project is a famkily memoir for her children and grandchildren. In it, she will incorporate family memories and photes combined with her own recipes and her culinary and entertaining tips.
